Matador League Baseball 2K6

Casey Dorrell

Maybe the game's actually called Major League Baseball 2K6. Probably, I guess. Regardless, Matador League Baseball 2K6 sounds like a lot more fun anyhow. "Stephen Malkmus tries to steal base, he's almost there, but wait . . . Stuart Murdoch trips him". That game's not coming to market any time soon, though. Still, the boring Major League game is a bit less boring this year, as it features a soundtrack of exclusively Matador label artists.

Matador co-founder, Gerard Cosloy says,

"We are pleased to license a wide range of songs from Matador artists for the 2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K6 video game. Given that our roster is filled with avid gamers and baseball fans, this was a natural fit."

The songs involved include the usual Matador suspects, such as Belle & Sebastian, Pavement, and Yo La Tengo. The game is set to be released on April 11th, and will be sold in large boxy stores to people who spend too much money on crap by people like myself, who will feign interest in said crap-buying populace's ill-advised buying choices, in order to gain their meager pay.

Does this mean I'll finally buy something newer than a Super Nintendo? Well . . . no. Definately not. Does it help that I can play Geoff's games all the time? Well . . . yes. Probably.

Below are some of the songs that will be on MLB 2K6.

Download:
Interpol - Evil
Yo La Tengo - Today is the Day
Preston School of Industry - Line it Up
Mogwai - Hunted by a Freak
Pretty Girls Make Graves - The Grandmother Wolf
Pavement - Serpentine Pad
